Hi. i was given a telescope as a gift but there was no instructions on how tou usse it can any one tell me how effective and how to use this telescope, the only information i could find was.

Any information about how to set up and use this correctly would be greatly appreciated.

I have a few suggestions:
1. Your best and first step should be to get in touch with a local astronomy club. If you take your scope to an observing session, you will receive a warm welcome and a lot more help than anyone here can give you. In the meantime:
2. Set the scope up during daytime hours. Of course, never point it toward the sun. That is very dangerous. But you can easily see how to set it up and get a little comfortable with it before it gets dark. Pick a level spot outdoors - don't try to look through windows - you'll get multiple distorted images.
3. Pick out a distant object on the horizon. The farther the better. Point the telescope toward the object using the 20 mm eyepiece without the barlow (this is low magnification, which you should always use for the first few things you look at). Focus the scope until the image looks clear and sharp.
4. If you have a finderscope, leave the main scope focused on the distant object and then set the finderscope so that its cross hairs or circle or dot is also on that distant object.
5. Once evening approaches, use the finderscope to set up on an easy target like the Moon or Saturn or Mars. Now look through the main scope. A little extra focusing may be required, but you should be able to get a clear image fairly easily (if your first look is at Mars, don't be disappointed - there's not much to see, really)..
6. You may find it helpful to get some easy-to-use star charts. I would recommend a book called Nightwatch by T. Dickinson. You will find that half the fun is learning where to find things in the night sky.
7. I have come full circle. You will now need to learn about things like polar alignment (if you have an equatorial mount) and how different eyepieces are used. Really, your best bet here is to go to a local astronomy club. It's fun.

Power Portable What can I use for a portable power source for lighting equipment?
For shooting photography in inconvenient areas where there are no (working) electrical outlets, what can I buy to give me a power source? Any kind of rechargeable power supply I can use to power my lighting in the field?
These are the type lighting kits we rent when we do not have access to power from the mains.
I'm flying overseas: what are some portable power options for the PSP and DS?
So I'm flying overseas this summer and would like to play my PSP 3000 and DS Lite on the plane. The flight is about 20 hours long, so you can see how having entertainment is imperative. Anyway, what are my portable power options concerning these two devices?
I have an item (I'm sorry I dont know exactly what it is called) that works with both the DS and the PSP. The small device uses Double A batteries and plugs into the DS/PSP and gives you about a 3-4 hours of life (depending on what system you are using). So its a little bit pricey, but good for a back up.

it depends on the judge. there might be certain laws that say how long depending on how far behind youare. but the judge is the one who tells you. my ex is 17000 behind and my husbands ex is 11000 behind and neither one of them go to jail ever. but the judge just told his ex to start paying by january or shes going to jail. if you can prove youre looking for work, maybe that will help.

Now over this time i have not gottn pregnant.. not that im trying to.
Im just worried that i am not able to have kids..
Is there a way WITH OUT PARENTS CONSENT to find out if im able to have kids.

Telescope Stores Where can i sell a telescope in central new york?
I have a pretty good Telescope, and im looking to sell it, already tried craigslist and ebay so im sorta looking for a store or somthing somone knows that will take this off my hands.
You may be able to find a store that specializes in telescopes and would be willing to place it on consignment.
I have found craigslist to be the fastest way to sell items, no matter what they are.

That part of your question indicates that you need good advice. You won't get that at a department store, nor at a camera store that sells scopes. You need to talk to real people at a telescope shop. 9X is less than most good binoculars give.
For me, I have three eyepieces and a good-quality barlow. That's all I need. And I only use the barlow with two of the eyepieces because the third would give too much magnification and distortion.

Toy Telescopes Taking care of a Telescope eye fish?
I have a Telescope eye fish. I origanily had 2 but one died. I need to clean its tank but every time I clean a fish tank It dies what do I do? And how much should I feed it? Can I give it a "toy"? If so what? If you ould answer that would be great:)
I clean mine really well and use a little bleach to make sure I have all the bacteria that could make your fish sick.
Make sure you rinse it really, really good.
Make sure the water is room temp when you take the fish out of the tank and put it into a bowl or it will go into shock.
Then put fresh water in it and let it set over night to get to room temp. You should get your fish a new friend since fish don't like to be a lone.
Some fresh green plants sold at the fish store gives them oxygen and a place to hide.
For a toy a bridge were it can swim in and out of works great.
Follow the directions on your box of food and or ask at your pet store. They are always glad to be of help.
