Telescopes Dobsonian Is the 6in orion dobsonian a good telescope for viewing jupiter?
will i be able to see alot of detail on jupiter? what other brands make better telescopes that will get me the best view of jupiter
i want to stay under 300 dollars for a budget
A 6 inch will show a fair amount of detail, but an 8 inch will bring out significantly more. Try to get an 8 inch dobsonian if you can instead.
I'm trying to figure out how to make at least a 25" aperture Dobsonian telescope. Does anyone know of any sites I can go to to find out how or any books I can get?
If you plan to grind your own mirror yourself, you should start with something MUCH smaller --- 6 or 8 inches at most. Even an experienced amateur telescope maker can spend years making a telescope mirror in the 25" size range.
Alternatively, you could buy the optics already made, and just build the mounting and "tube" or strut assembly to hold them. Count on spending several thousands of dollars for these.
At the moment i have a 10 gallon tank,15 gallon tank filter and all the other necessary supplies. I understand 10 gal is not enough for full grown goldfish and i will upgrade when the time comes. Anyway i would like to purchase two fancy goldfish and i would like to know what breed you like best! Im thinking a Butterfly moor, ryukin, fantail or telescope cause i love the long split tails and round body.
Also im curious if i could keep a butterfly moor with a ryukin.... Would they be ok living together?
So tell me your favourite type of goldfish and any other stuff you think i would find usefull
ANDREW: thanks. but you still didnt answer my question...
My favorite is Oranda, they have beautiful head growths and their tails and fins are all very flowy. But out of the ones you suggested I like ryukin and then the telescope eyed ones.
I'm getting a couple of Oranda for my ten gallon so don't let anyone push you into getting a larger aquarium if you aren't ready for it. People have been keeping goldfish in tiny fish bowls for years, a ten gallon will be fine.
Oh and I think you can keep the two you mentioned together. The only ones who need to be with their own kind are Oranda and lionhead because of their headgrowths and, in the lionhead's case, lack of fins. So they are slower swimmers and won't be able to compete for food.
Ooh! Just looked up butterfly moors they are stunning. A very hard decision!
One last tip, if you get the smallest ones you'll have the longest time with them in the tank. If you want to see something that will make you want Oranda goldfish, YouTube "punch the goldfish"
Tripod Telescope can a telescope tripod be repaired, or will we have to get a new one..and how mush do they cost?
my dad was in the back yard with our telescope looking at saturn and the bottom thing on it broke or something, i didn't see what exactly broke, but its the tripod, not the actaual telescope.
ok i think it was the bottom of the legs of the tripod..i think he said it cracked. its a meade astronomical elescope...sorry i forget exactly what one.
Impossible to say unless you give us more information. We need to know the size and make of telescope, and exactly what part is broken. The "tripod" is just the legs; far more critical is the "mount" which attaches the telescope to the legs and allows it to be pointed and adjusted. Many parts can be repaired or replaced, but I can't say what or how much it will cost without more information on the damage.
Is the Zhumell 1.25 Inch 8-24mm Zoom Telescope Eyepiece a good eyepiece?
Im going to buy an orion xt8 but I cant afford an eyepiece kit. Saw this zoom eyepiece but I dont know if I should buy it. Please help!!
Nice choice on the telescope...
Zoom eyepieces are not good for celestial viewing. The 25mm eyepiece you get with the scope will be fine for now,But I suggest Getting a shorter focal
length premium eyepiece such as a 7mm or 6mm for Planets. The only mid priced eyepiece I would recommend is-
