8 Inch Dobsonian Telescopes

Is my new Telescope broken!?
i have just been familiarizing my self with my new dobsonian skywatcher. 8 inch. 200p. in day light, i located a T.V aerial in my finderscope ( it was dead centre of the crosshairs) and i realised that it was upside down. ( im supposing the actual telescope eye piece will correct it). when i went to look in the eyepiece of the optical tube, i saw just black and skin coloured blur for some reason. im using the low power eye piece, and i really have no idea what is going on. PLEASE i am begging you guys, please tell me exactly how to see something with my telescope
by the way, the T.V aerial is the most distant object i could locate. so the problem isn't that its too close.
im not that bothered about it being upside down, i am bothered about why all i am seeing is blurry nothingness.
No, it's not broken. Go back and re-read my answer to you this morning, because you are not following what I said. Point the _telescope_ first, NOT the finder scope. Don't even _look_ through the finder scope! Once you have the TV tower in the _telescope_, adjust the finder scope so that it's on the crosshairs by adjusting the two screws on the finder support, without moving the main telescope.
The problem is that the field of view of even your lowest power eyepiece, is really tiny compared to the field of view of your finder.
Images in Newtonian reflectors are _always_ upside down. Astronomers always want the most light through their telescopes, so they won't put extra lenses or prisms into the finder to erect the images. There's no "up" or "down" in space!
